My Story

My journey into the world of design began in 2001, when I first moved to Bend. My first home was a quaint craftsman, surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens and a view of downtown Bend. With a desire to nest and create my space, I went to work doing some cosmetic work and decorating. After crafting my vision, about 2 years later, circumstances changed when my neighbor across the street built a second floor and wiped out my view and privacy in one fell swoop.

Determined to make lemonade out of lemons, I sold my home, made a decent profit, found another cosmetic fixer with loads of potential in a great neighborhood, and rolled the proceeds into my next remodel. This second home was a bigger project, which I relished. In need of a facelift throughout, I went to work updating the kitchen, the master bath and even tackled the barren landscape by adding a water feature, native plants and trees to provide shade. Two years later, I sold the home and doubled my investment.

Through these first “flips”, I discovered that I not only had a knack for picking homes with potential for upgrading and greatly improving their value, but I also had a passion for picking all the finish materials: tiles, flooring, cabinets, countertops, paint colors… and pulling it all together, completing the project with furnishings and art.

My path forward became clear: I decided to take the leap and change my career.

Since 2006, I have worked in a variety of design-related jobs, including green building, design consulting, and “flipping” my own homes. During my 14+ years as a Realtor, I managed many remodels and cosmetic updates of my Seller’s homes, before listing them on the market. I have decades of experience in the housing, building, design and real estate industries. For many people, the number of decisions to be made when remodeling or building a home are overwhelming. But for me, when I am considering all of the options to embellish a home, I feel like a kid in the candy store!

In addition to Interior Design, I am also passionate about affordable housing and sustainable building practices. I currently sit on the Board of Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity and am working with the team to select the finish material packages for their homes. Bend-Redmond Habitat is committed to sustainable design and continues to build with a focus on Passive House & Net Zero standards.

There is nothing that makes her happier than to see the potential of a home and bring it to its fruition, creating a work of art, a place of beauty.

By understanding your design tastes, preferences, and practical requirements, I collaborate closely with you, your builder, and architect to transform your home into a sanctuary you're always eager to return to. I look forward to working with you!
